“Hi, I’m Erinn and I no longer try to fold fitted sheets.”
— Founder of The Fitted Sheet Co.
The Fitted Sheet Co is about you.
But before I could show up here,
I had to go and find me.
This is that story.
Hi, I’m Erinn. I am a mother of neurodiverse children. I co-parent two of them. I have university degrees in Journalism and Business. I’ve moved cities and changed careers. I’ve managed business lines and teams of other people. But I have also burnt out, chosen to leave high-paying jobs and board positions, and tried way too many times, to be perfect for other people. Through both success and failure, I have also embraced growth.
I have lived through frustrating injuries and health concerns, and also witnessed loved ones battle cancer. I even cared for my youngest son, who at just 13 months old, was diagnosed with epilepsy. I was with him through every seizure, multiple times a day, (where he would also stop breathing). I understand the importance of good health and always enjoyed playing sport and working out, yet many times I have needed to restart my fitness from scratch. Reminders of love, gratitude and hope, have been a constant pattern in my life.
Though where there has been heartbreak and pain, there has also been fun and joy. After divorce, I married the love of my life, who is from another country and culture I have come to understand and embrace. I’ve backpacked the world and hung out with will.i.am. I’ve taken risks and jet-skied at night off a remote island in Indonesia. I’ve overcome fears, walking on the glass floors of many tourist city towers. But secretly, I’ve also hidden in closets and cried about life. In my own quest for life’s answers, I’ve read everything from Buddhism for Mothers, to Nicholas Sparks’ novels, to Atomic Habits. Always a daydreamer, I have a big imagination and an ever deeper love of learning.
I’ve weathered the storms on this journey called life, and armed with my strengths of curiosity and creativity, I continue to grow and embody my authenticity, so I can DO what matters and has meaning for me.
But to begin, I had to stop relying on other people to tell me who I was and what I should or shouldn’t do. I had to rediscover my own feelings and needs, and reset standards and expectations so they were 100% my own.
You see, I was part of that 80s-born, lost generation of girls who appeared intelligent, but had some quirks and was non-verbal until nearly school age. I was also one of those mothers that started questioning themselves as their child went through assessments for an autism diagnosis. And so, right after my 33rd birthday, I was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. Now, over seven years later, I have gone from “Wow, life totally makes sense now,” to “Am I seriously going to be stuck like this forever?” to “I love my unique brain.”
A diagnosis gives you understanding of why you think and behave in certain ways, but it doesn’t change anything for you unless you do the work - to love and trust the real you; to harness your strengths; and build the skills and aligned strategies, which move you further towards your goals and the life you really want to live.
Over the years, I have learned to build my self-awareness through a new lens (and not through the self-care books written by neurotypicals, for neurotypicals). Recontextualising my life history and taking time to understand myself better, has given me a second chance to relearn who I am and what I want. I am now grateful for my lived experience as an AuDHDer woman and the permission I gave myself to finally proceed as ME.
Now my purpose in life is to educate and inspire the value of living authentically, creating the acceptance of neurodiversity in our homes and everyday lives.
To BE and MAKE the change for our future neurokin (our children and our grandchildren) – and for YOU.
I founded The Fitted Sheet Co as a Coaching and Consulting business, to help individuals and groups who want to understand ADHD and Neurodiversity better, by applying a strengths-based approach to living and working.
The life-changing ripple down effect of uncovering and embracing your most authentic self, is not only the best gift you can give yourself to live more meaningfully – but the single, best thing you can do for every other person and situation in your life. You will feel more content, you will feel more alive and you will have better relationships with other people.
Coaching you to live by design.
ADHD coaching is life, business and executive functioning coaching, but through an ADHD lens. No matter what your goals are, through collaborating and facilitating with an understanding and acceptance of how your brain works differently, we can support you to create habits and systems that work for you.
